Star Mother and Starchild

Done... finally done... after all the struggles to free this idea from being confined to my brain... all the desperation to find the drive to make it... all the false promises i've made to myself to get started/make progress... all the fiddling with digital effects... all the abuse of Photoshop's Lighting Effects Tool... it's finally done!!! 

Wavey, if you're reading this, remember our conversation on my Tifa Drawing, and I'd mentioned some speacial crossover I've been struggling to make a reality... well... this be it.

Let me tell you a little story about me and my fascination with League of Legends... despite me not playng the actual game  . The further I searched into LoL related media, I learned about a band that goes by the name of Falconshield. They do a lot of songs related to videogames, particularly League of Legends, and there was one song among the collection which had a colossal impact on me: Starcall ft. Nicki Taylor

That song lit a creative fire inside of me that really made me want to make an Art piece relating to Soraka, so surely a nice simple portrait with enough effort put into it would've been sufficient, right? Nope... not with me... a special crossove element must be thrown into the mix
Enter Rosalina of Super Mario Galaxy fame, whose own backstory IMO can tug at the heartstrings just as much as Soraka's.
Knowing my luck, I wouldn't be surprised if this crossover idea has been thought of already but f*** it.

Important Notice:
I like to think this is one of my strongest pieces both in terms of concept and execution, but I couldn't have been were it not for a few fellow Artists that in there own unique way helped me make it so. And if I may; I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge those people.

Let's be fair, my anatomy sucks, is mediocre at best. Were it not for some of the brilliant stock photos people share on this site this could've gone pear shaped in a hurry.
That's why the second thanks goes to It's been a while since I came across their collection and I can't believe it's taken me this long to seek aid from their fabulous gallery. Guess it was a matter of waiting for the right Artwork.  You're photos were a big help girls, and I look forward to using more to save any future Arts from my rubbish anatomy skills.

 
And finally, but definitely not least, whose Gallery of outstandingly beautiful portraits brought League of Legends to my attention in the first place.
